Hello Beautiful Crafters,
Well yes, I am still alive! Due to a number of family issues, it has been a while since I've had the opportunity to commit to some time on my blog but here I am now and planning to be so more often.
Today I have a card to share with you which I made for my brother and his his new wife for their Wedding which was on the 16th October. What a happy day it was for everyone involved. I have made this card using a variety of products from the Current Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalogue. I've popped a product list & technique spotlight below the photo should you wish to give it a go.
Here's what I've used to make this card:
Stamp Set: Occasional Quotes (Level Three Hostess Reward Set)
Ink Colours: Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso (for sponge daubing around the circles)
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Designer Series Paper (DSP): Love Letter
Ribbon & Thread: 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain in Early Espresso, Linen Thread (to tie through button)
Button: Cherry Cobbler from the Regals Button Collection
Big Shot Dies: Circles #2 Original Die, Beautiful Wings Embosslits Die
Punch: Oval Extra Large
Spolight on Technique - Circles Feature:
To create the Circles feature:
1) Use the big shot machine with the Circles #2 die to cut out a variety of circles from the different patterns in the Love Letter DSP pack. I LOVE this paper! It is rich and classy and very adaptable.
2) Sponge daub around the edges with Early Espresso Ink.
3) Scrunch up the circles as you would a piece of paper you were intending to throw out, but in this case, you open the circles back out and stick them to each other (I used the 2 Way Glue Pen) starting with the largest on the bottom and working up to the smallest on the top (it has a shabby chic sort of feel about it). Set aside.
4) Double thread the linen thread through the button, tie in a knot and adhere it to the centre of the top circle.
5) Attach completed piece to your card as desired.
TOO EASY and SO EFFECTIVE!
Until next time - happy stamping!

This is an incredibly beautiful card, Di; I love everything about it! I HAD to buy this luscious paper when it first came out, but haven't been game to cut into it yet - I need to just do it! Thanks for the inspiration :)
